A Day at Lake Ashtabula
It was a nice summer day and Samantha's family was planning to visit a lake near their home. It usually took about an hour or so to get there, but it was worth the trip. The lake, which was relatively small, offered many opportunities for Samantha and her family to have fun. Her mother planned on fishing while they were there and Samantha, her sisters, as well as a few of their cousins would take a swim in the warm water. After packing everything in their car, the family headed out on the road.
"You should try and rest on the way there," Samantha's mother told her and her sisters Madeline and Carla. "It's going to take a while for us to get to the lake."
Of course, none of the girls wanted to sleep. Samantha tried desperately to stay awake so she could watch everything that passed by. It wasn't long before the girl drifted off to sleep with her head pressed against the window. The warm air and the motion of the car was enough to lull her to sleep. Samantha slept the rest of the drive.
